    New Bethel United Methodist Church is opening a clothes closet for those in need. The clothes closet will be open each month on the first Thursday and the fourth Saturday at the same hours of 9 a.m.-12 noon.

    New Bethel United Methodist is located at 7061 Dews Road in Hurt.

  • Calvary Baptist Church

    Calvary Baptist Church, 8866 Gladys Road, Altavista will hold a 3N3 Basketball Charity Tourney, June 24, at the church.

    Tournament will be double elimination. Tip-off is at 9:30 a.m. Early registration per team: $20 and $30 day of the tournament registration per team. Register at www.calvarybaptistaltavista.com.

    Centra Mammograph Unit will be at the YMCA, 718 7th Street, Altavista, Tuesday, July 11, 7:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Appointments only. Call 434-369-9622, ext. 0 to set-up an appointment. Must be 40 years or older, 365 or more days since last mammogram. Can not do mammogram if there are known breast issues.

  • Altavista Church of God of Prophecy Senior Luncheon

  • Free Children's Book Fair Set For Rustburg

    Saturday, July 29, 2017 : 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM

    The Campbell County Department of Social Services will hold a Free Children's Book Fair on Saturday, July 29, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Social Services Building, located at 69 Kabler Lane, Rustburg.

    Free books will be provided to children who attend the event. The event is open to the public. No pre-registration is required.

    Social Services is seeking donations from the community of gently used or new books for children of all ages.

    Drop donated books off at the Social Services Building at Campbell County Parks and Recreation Department, 34 Rails End Lane, Rustburg and any branch of the Campbell County Public Library.
