Connie Campbell Grissinger

Connie Campbell Grissinger, 79, of Gretna, VA, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 16, 2024. She was the wife of the late Arthur Grissinger. She passed away peacefully at home after an extended illness, while under hospice care. She was born February 25, 1945, in Mariba, Kentucky to the late Alex Campbell and Gladys Trimble Campbell. She was a homemaker and loved to watch the Open Bible Baptist Church (Chatham) livestreams. Connie enjoyed bird watching, Baby Yoda, and kittens, and had a green thumb with house plants. She was a quiet, kind, and loving person who endeared herself to others and had a keen sense of humor, even amidst a debilitating disease. She always put others first, demonstrating her love for God and people. She lived a life that guided others to the salvation that is only found in the heart-felt belief in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. She is survived by two daughters, Rose Grissinger of Gretna and Tracy O'Neil and her husband, Jim of Forest; three brothers, Jesse Campbell and his wife, Jeanetta, Keith Campbell and his wife, Lana, and Tom Campbell; one sister, Jeanette Egelston; a sister-in-law, Wanda Campbell; and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Arthur Grissinger, their only son, Mark Grissinger, two sisters, Nancy Egelston and Agnes Cooper, and two brothers, Letcher Campbell and James Campbell. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to all of Mom's care givers over the past few years, Tracy Moser, Shirley Mansfield, Theresa Shehorn, Jessica Moser, Taylor Rhodes, Shannon Crawford and Kristy Scott. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 21, 2024, at Finch and Finch Chapel, Altavista by Pastor Tim Kyser, with interment to follow in Green Hill Cemetery. For those who cannot attend in person, the service will be live-streamed and available online. The family will receive friends immediately prior to the funeral service beginning at 11:30 a.m. at Finch and Finch Funeral and Cremation Service, Altavista.
