Debra Dagenhart Boley

Debra "Debbie" Dagenhart Boley, 66, of Altavista went home to be with the Lord Thursday, March 13, 2025. She was the loving wife of the late Thomas Kyle Boley. She was born on July 19, 1958, in Washington D.C., a daughter of the late Richard Johnson Dagenhart and Viola Hamlett Dagenhart. She was a devoted member of Christian Life Church, actively participated in the church's women's ministry, and generously volunteered at the local food bank. She was also a retired employee of Roses. She is survived by three daughters, Angela Turner and her husband, Andrew of Gladys, Ashley Lambert and her husband, Erik of Altavista and Tiffany Kirby and her fiancé Chris of Blairs; one brother, Michael Dagenhart and his wife, Pat of Gladys; one sister, Sharon Denise Collins and her husband, Greg of Fredericksburg; a son-in-law, James Kirby and his fiancé, Teri; sisters-in-law, Wanda Dagenhart, Faye Dagenhart and Kathy Latimer and her husband, Tommy; seven grandchildren, Cameron "Blake" Boley, Caden "Bubby" Boley, James "JJ" Kirby, Jr., Eli Kirby, Bailey Smith, Alvin Smith and Kaileigh Kirby; her four-legged Grandson Boba Lambert, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Kyle Boley; her beloved son, Thomas Phillip "Phil" Boley; two loving brothers, Johnny and Richard Dagenhart; and the Lambert and Kirby Angel Babies who are now being held in the arms of their most loving Grandma. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 16, 2025, at Finch & Finch Chapel, Altavista by the Rev. Michael Turner with interment to follow in Mount Hermon Church Cemetery, Lynch Station. Debbie is remembered by her family, friends, and Church members as a most devoted daughter of the King. Debbie's faith in Jesus was apparent to all who knew her, and she lived her life seeking to further the Kingdom of Heaven and spread God's love to others. Debbie would want her family and friends to know the love of Christ, and she lived her life to the fullest being the hands and feet of Jesus to others. Mama was a feisty woman, whose perseverance after the death of her son and husband inspired so many. Her love knew no bounds, and she was fiercely protective of her children. She fought metastatic breast cancer tooth and nail, and never let it stop her from being "Mama". She never let pain get in the way of life, even in the midst of having cancer. She took many trips, spent time with family and friends, worked at her Church with the women's ministry, and still managed to take care of her children and grandchildren with a love so deep and vast that her loss leaves a void. Mama's faith allowed her to overcome so many obstacles in her life, and it sustained her through unimaginable loss and a fierce battle against breast cancer. Her family wishes to celebrate her life and her faith by remembering Jesus and his sacrifice, knowing we can all be together again soon, never to be separated again by death. We ask that everyone celebrate Easter with us early, and wear your Easter pastels in memory of Mama, and in celebration that because of Jesus' we can be together again. Her homecoming is a joyous occasion. She has met her Savior and been reunited with her husband and her son. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m., Saturday at Finch & Finch Funeral and Cremation Service, Altavista and other times at the home of her daughter Angela Turner, 650 Pigeon Run Road, Gladys.
