Diane Mary Lewis

Diane Mary Hewitt Lewis, 72, of Lynch Station died Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of Richard Heath Lewis, Sr. for 49 years. She was born August 2, 1950 in Saint Paul, Minnesota, a daughter of the late Donald Fairbanks Hewitt and Bette Jean Hetfield Hewitt. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, R. Heath Lewis, Jr. and his wife, Sarah of Lynch Station and Jason Fairbanks Lewis; One grandson Kalen Fairbanks Lewis; one brother, Thomas Charles Hewitt and his wife, Cheryl of Arizona; and two sisters, Mary Ann Grafton and her husband, Larry of Lynch Station and Judy Marie Cofone of West Virginia; and Numerous Nieces, Nephews. Diane's greatest joy was when she moved to Virginia this last year to be with her sisters and their families. She so looked forward to seeing them all as often as she could and made sure every one of the kids got a Special Birthday Card with her signature Two Dollar Bill for good luck. Diane was so excited about building a new home with her husband Rick on Leesville Lake. She called it her "Dream Home" because her dream of living on a lake was finally coming true after 50 years. We are all blessed with such wonderful memories of our Diane / Dizzer … Memories that will feed us and nourish us, reminding us continually of God's Great love … For that is what Diane would want … Above all she loved God, above all she spoke God, above all she wanted others to know the love of Christ … And it's because of this deep love that she had for our Lord and Savior that she was able to love beyond measure … And we all are recipients of her gentle and loving way … Grief never ends … But it changes It's a passage … Not a place to stay Grief is not a sign of weakness Nor a lack of faith It is the price of Love Love You BabyGirl Diane so loved her church and Pastor Bobby … If you would like to Honor Diane we request that you make a donation to New Beginnings Baptist Church, 1874 Lynch Mill Rd., Altavista, Va. 24571 Diane was cremated and there will be a private family "Celebration of Life" sometime in the coming months.
