Julia Christine Eaton

Julia Christine Eaton, 81, of 390 Wileman Road, Lynch Station died Monday, August 2, 2021 at her home. She was born July 13, 1940 in Cumberland, Maryland, a daughter of the late Clayton Roy and Virginia (Leisure) Eaton. She is a 1958 graduate of Fort Hill High School in Cumberland, MD. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edgar Miller; brothers, Frank Eaton and Paul Eaton; sister, Cheryl Brown; and a daughter, Diane W. Largent. She is survived by an aunt, Jean Brotemarkle of Frostburg, MD; two daughters, Darcy Miller of the residence and Dawn Breeden of Ohio; six grandchildren, Holly DiPlacido, Gary Wilt, Thomas Snow, Brian Snow, Zackary Niceley and Donna Miller; along with many nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. Julia held many titles in her life beyond daughter, sister, wife and mother. She was a CandP telephone switch board operator, German Shepard dog breeder and handler, Girl Scout leader, Mineral County Dog Warden, horse enthusiast, animal warfare advocate, both wild and domestic, rescue squad volunteer, bank accounting clerk, census taker and held various factory positions. Mid life she found the construction trades to be her niche. She enjoyed home remodeling, historical restorations and wood working the most but also did plumbing, electrical, roofing and tile work. She retired as lead finisher for Branner Woodworks, Baltimore, MD. Her volunteer work included Keyser Rescue Squad, various ASPCA functions, Peoples Homesteading Group where she also served in various board positions for more than 10 years, Baltimore Zoo Docent working with spiders, reptiles and snakes, Baltimore Pit Rescue where she advocated for all bully breeds, and several Baltimore Feral Cat organizations where she preformed TNR duties, rehab and rehoming, and also built shelters. She enjoyed volunteering her time to help the lives of animals and humans alike. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Box 39, Napoleonville, LA 70390, The ASPCA, a local animal shelter of your choice, or volunteer at your communities sweat-equity program.
