Lillian Patterson Dalton

Lillian Patterson Dalton was born on December 14, 1927 and went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 26, 2014. She was a friend to many and loved her family more than anyone could ever know. Her love for others was unconditional and was always giving of her time and talents, As a Christian she lived by the verse in Proverbs 3-5-6 that reads "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not to your own understanding in all ways acknowledge him and he will make your path straight." Lillian was the daughter of Frank Deboe and Ora West Patterson. She was a member of the Fairview Christian Church in Lynchburg and was retired after many years of service from Belk. Lillian was preceded in death by both parents, her sister Racheal Patterson, her nephew Howard Tuck and her great nephew Ricky Tuck who was like a son to her. Lillian is survived by a sister Etta Tuck of Moneta, Dorothy Payne and her husband Wallace of Bedford and their son Kevin and his wife Sharon, Lavern Tuck of Hurt and her son Dale, Richard Tuck and his wife Linda of Bedford and their son Michael, daughter Penny and son Richie Lee. She is also survived by Landon Tuck, Ryan Tuck, Brandon Tuck, Joshua Payne, Tammie Tuck, Travis Berger, Austin Berger and Lynita Tuck. Lillian is also survived by a beloved god daughter Dale Menzel and her husband Tom and a very special friend and caregiver Terri Tuck. Life is but a journey and the journey for Lillian on earth has come to an end. She now has peace and eternal life with the Lord. We do not grieve but instead celebrate her life and the precious time we were allowed to share with her. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Finch and Finch Chapel, Altavista by the Rev. Jack Hamilton with entombment to follow in Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from one hour prior to the service at Finch and Finch Funeral and Cremation Service, Altavista. The family wishes to thank all of her friends for visits, phone calls and cards over the past years and especially these last few months. We would also like to thank Doctor McNeil and Doctor Petry for their kindness and care they provided to her. A very special thank you to the Summit and the wonderful staff that made her final days comfortable. We would like to extend a special thank you to Centra Hospice of the Hills as well.
