Lori Michelle Tweedy

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lori Michelle Tweedy (Pettry), who left us on February 6, 2025, at the age of 51. Born on January 20, 1974, in Apopka, Florida, Lori's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, resilience, and vibrant spirit. She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend who brought joy to all who knew her. Lori was the cherished daughter of Edgar Ray Pettry and Nancy Pettry, and she was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Donna Arlene Pettry. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her three beautiful daughters: Brittany (Munarsenio) of Lynchburg, Brandi (Brandon) of Rustburg, and Brooklyn (Derek) of Lynchburg. Lori was also a proud grandmother to three wonderful grandchildren: Julianna, Jaedius, Rhalei, with two more on the way. She deeply treasured her family and formed lasting bonds that will resonate for generations. Lori grew up in a loving family, and she is survived by her brothers, Edgar Ray Pettry Jr. (Melissa) of Madison Heights, and Duke of Lynchburg, along with sisters Angel (Alex) of Long Island and Christi (Robie) of Lynchburg. She was also blessed to have her grandparents, Roger and Lori Miller of Waycross, GA, and she cherished her extended family, including uncles Ronald Lee Stum (Blair) of Eustice, FL, and Arnold Ray Pine (Tina) of Waycross, GA, as well as her aunt Barbara Michelle Lowery (Eric) of Wray, GA. Lori had a wide circle of friends who adored her and many family members who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jaylee. A passionate learner, Lori dedicated herself to her education and studied Psychology at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. This academic pursuit reflected her caring nature, as she always sought to understand and support those around her. Lori was known for her ingenuity and her unique ability to embrace both glamour and practicality. She was a true "girl's girl" who loved to glam up, showcasing her love for makeup, perfume, clothes, and shoes, while also being able to roll up her sleeves and tackle any challenge that came her way. Lori had a flair for fashion, and although she wasn't a fan of sports, she could rock a sports jerseys with her own stylish twist. Her love for music was evident, with Lil Wayne being her favorite artist, and her favorite television show, "The Walking Dead," captivated her imagination. In her life, Lori cultivated relationships that were filled with warmth, laughter, and genuine love. She had a contagious spirit that could light up a room, and her presence will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Lori's funeral service will be private, honoring her wishes and the intimate nature of her passing. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who reached out with messages, cards, and calls of support and love during this difficult time. Your kindness has meant the world to them. As we remember Lori, let us celebrate her vibrant spirit, her fierce love for her family, and the countless memories that will forever remain in our hearts.
