Pauline Daniel

Pauline Fariss Daniel, 93, formerly of Gladys, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 in the Medical Care Center. She was the loving wife of the late Earl B. Daniel, Sr. She was born April 12, 1918 in Rustburg, a daughter of the late Charlie W. Fariss and Maggie Carwile Fariss. She was a member of Edge Baptist Church, a member of W.M.U. and served on the flower committee for many years, a loving housewife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is survived by two sons, E.B. Daniel, Jr. and his wife Margaret and Lawrence W. Daniel and his wife Dee, all of Lynchburg; two daughters, Hazel Pleasants and her husband Drew of Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Maggie Holt and her husband Tom of Rustburg; one brother, Gilbert Fariss(Joanne) of Lynchburg; one sister, Catherine Caldwell(Steve) of Lynchburg; five grandchildren, Lisa Myers(Bryan), Wes Daniel(Kelly), Terri Frappier(Ed), Eddie Cook(Danielle), Jon Holt(Elizabeth) and Travis Holt(Jenna); six great grandchildren, Paige, Peyton and Leah Myers, Aaron, Cole and Luke Daniel, Lauren, Mariah and Olivia Frappier, Abigail and Jacob Cook; five sisters-in-law, Charlotte Fariss, Sally Fariss, Elizabeth Thompson, Louise Daniel and Rachel Poindexter. Also surviving are a number of nieces, nephews and extended family including the staff at The Medical Care Center. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Harry, Milton, Jasper and Clinton Fariss; and two sisters, Lenora Farris and Esther Miller. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at the Medical Care Center for their loving care, compassion and support. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Edge Baptist Church by the Rev. Arthur Wingfield and Rev. Steve Emory with interment to follow in Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery, Gladys. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m., Friday at Finch & Finch Funeral and Cremation Service, Gladys and other times at the residence of her daughter, Maggie Holt, 745 Homeplace Road, Rustburg, Va.
