Phillip Ray Elliott

Phillip Ray Elliott, 75, of Hurt died Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at his home. He was the husband of Rose Elliott. He was born June 4, 1949 in Campbell County, a son of the late Willie Ernest Elliott and Florence Helen Lindsay Elliott. He was a retired employee of Bedford Weaving Company. A devoted family man, Faithful Christian and avid golfer, he left behind a legacy of kindness, strength and unwavering love. He was a proud member of Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church in Gladys, where he found deep spiritual connection and lifelong friendships. His Sundays were sacred, spent in worship and fellowship. When he wasn't on the golf course perfecting his swing, Phillip found his greatest happiness in the company of his grandchildren. Whether it was sharing stories, playing games or offering quiet wisdom, he was always present - a steady and loving influence in their lives. Though he has left this world, his spirit lives on in every story told on the back nine, every Sunday hymn and in the hearts of the grandchildren he cherished so dearly. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Sabrina Scott of Hurt and Brandi Segraves of Rustburg; two brothers, Albert Jackson Elliott and Raymond Dale Elliott; two grandchildren, Kristen Gress (Eric) and Tyler Scott (Kelsey); four great-grandchildren, Whitley, Emmy, Addi and Jackson; and a special friend, Pat Kizer. He was preceded in death by six brothers, Willie Glenn Elliott, William Elmo Elliott, Frank Wesley Elliott, Robert Wayne Elliott, Thomas Earl Elliott and Christopher Daniel Elliott; and one sister, Gracie Elliott Walker. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church by Randolph Coffey and Rev. Brad Hendrix. The family will receive friends beginning one hour prior to the service at the church.
