Roy Lee Catron

Roy Lee Catron born September 29, 1945 in Anawalt, WV passed from this life's journey on June 15, 2018 at Lynchburg General Hospital following a decline in health. Mr. Catron was an active member of Pittsville Pentecostal Holiness Church where he found much happiness and had many laughs as a member of the choir, serving in the food bank, and attending church functions. He enjoyed gardening, preparing blackberry jam, reading, having his children serve him coffee, debating politics with his brother Clifton, spending time with son, Tim and going to the races with his nephew Paul Catron. Roy was a devoted father and caregiver to his step sons Zachery and Caleb Jones. Loved ones that cleared the path for Roy are his father, Harry "Pap" Catron and mother, Willa Catron; his sister, Diana Hughes; and two brothers, Danny Ray Catron and Mickie Catron. Loved ones that will miss and think of Roy until they meet again are his son, Timothy Wayne Catron and wife Althea of Manassas; his youngest and favorite daughter, Kristi Dubois and her husband Chad Dubois of Tampa, FL; his oldest daughter, Michelle Crews and her husband Dwane of Nashville, TN; his seven grandchildren, Dr. Ashley Lipscomb, Victoria Falwell, Justin Catron, Casey Catron, Laurel DuBois, McKenzie DuBois, Landen Crews, Camden DuBois; one great grandson Hayden Falwell; brothers, Ronald Catron (Ethelene), Clifton Catron (Xinfenglin), Tony Catron (Sarah); and nephew Paul Catron. A celebration of life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Pittsville Pentecostal Holiness Church by Pastor Michael Allen with inurnment to follow in the church cemetery and military honors by American Legion Altavista Memorial Post 36 and Gretna Post 232. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m., Friday at Finch and Finch Funeral and Cremation Service, Altavista. Michelle, Tim, and Kristi would like to thank their mother, Bonnye Blair for her compassion and support during their father's decline in health.
