Thomas Kyle Boley

Thomas Kyle Boley, age 67, of Altavista went home to be with the Lord on June 25th 2022. He was the loving husband of Debra "Debbie" Dagenhart Boley for 44 years. He was born May 13th 1955 in Lynchburg, a son of the late Henry Franklin Boley and Evelyn Wilborn Boley. He retired from the Timken Company as an Analyst. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Angela Turner and husband, Andrew of Gladys, Ashley Lambert and husband, Erik of Altavista, and Tiffany Kirby and husband, James of Lynchburg; one sister, Vickie D. Harmon of Altavista; four grandsons, Cameron "Blake" Boley, Caden Blane Boley, James "JJ" Emmanuel Kirby Jr., and Eli Hunter Kirby. He was preceded in death by his beloved son Thomas Phillip "Phil" Boley; two brothers, Dennis F. Boley and Clifton H. Boley; one sister, Sandra Boley; and the Lambert and Kirby Angel Babies who are now enjoying time with "Papa". Tom is fondly remembered for his humor, his willingness to help those in need, and his love for his children, grandchildren, and family. He was a true gentleman who placed family second only to his relationship with his Savior. Tom was everyone's "Uncle Tom" and is known far and wide for his special "Bug Juice" that graced the tables of weddings and celebrations for his friends and those he considered family. Tom spent the last eleven months on this Earth with his family and visiting with friends. He wanted to be visited in person rather than to have people shed tears at a graveside and he was blessed to have many great visits, talks with his loved ones, trips out to eat, shenanigans, holidays, and a lot of laughter before he entered Heaven's Gates. Tom would want everyone to know that faith in Christ is what gives us hope for the future and that the Master is there for those that would call on Him for help. Tom is celebrating with his son and other family awaiting a heavenly reunion with those he left behind. He was proud to have made all of his arrangements himself and personally supervised and approved this obituary two months after he was given two weeks to live. Ever the gentleman, he extended the offer for Mom to "try it first" to which she declined. Dad had the best sense of humor and often referred to himself as a "dead man walking" but he was proud to have come as far as he did and stay much longer than expected. He always did things on his own terms and left us when he was ready. He is very loved and will be missed more than words can say. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Finch & Finch Chapel, Altavista by John Tucker with interment to follow in Mount Hermon Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m., Monday at Finch & Finch Funeral and Cremation Service, Altavista and other times at the home of Angela and Andrew, 650 Pigeon Run Road, Gladys.
