Betty Lou Dixon Johnson, 83, Hurt died Sunday, January 12, 2020 at Lynchburg Health and Rehab. She was the wife of the late Charlie David Johnson, Jr. She was born July 21, 1936 in Pennsylvania, raised at the Miller Home in Lynchburg, a daughter of the late Mary Elizabeth Dixon. Betty Lou was a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church. She was a former Senior Regent with the Altavista Moose Lodge Chapter 1966. She was a member of the Woodmen of World drill team. She is survived by one son, Michael David Johnson and his wife, Joyce of Hurt; two daughters, Donna Robertson and her husband, Mike and Vickie Johnson all of Hurt; seven grandchildren, Michelle Lumpkin and her husband, Terry, Michael Johnson, Jr. and his wife, Jamie, Cynthia Dudley and her husband, Brian, Larry Robertson and his wife, April, Melitta Argenbright, Kristy Hawkins and April Rosser; nineteen great grandchildren, Jason Lumpkin, Bradley Lumpkin, Sarah Johnson, Mikey Johnson, III, C.J. Johnson, Brianna Dudley, Cayleigh Dudley, Bennett Dudley, Shyanne Robertson, Brandon Robertson, Natalie Robertson, Jasmine Argenbright, Jesse Argenbright, Jordan Argenbright, Karmyn Hawkins, Trinity Poe, Daisha Poe, Rider Hawkins, Sophia Mays; and a special friend, Guy Clark. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruby Hudson, Margaret Coleman, Ruth Shupe; and one brother, Jack Campbell. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at Finch and Finch Chapel, Altavista by the Rev. Jason Andrews with interment to take place at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m., Monday at Finch and Finch Funeral and Cremation Service, Altavista and other times at the residence.
