Donald Grey Barr

Donald Grey Barr 71, of 3027 Webb Mill Road, Appomattox died Monday, February 14, 2022 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Joan Faye Barr. He was born July 26, 1950 in Norfolk, a son of the late Clifton McDonald Barr and Susie Grey Eastwood Barr. He was the retired owner/operator of Hurdles Front & Frame and Body Shop. He is survived by four sons, Robert Cortazar and his wife, Lisa of Farmville, Donald Barr and his wife, Andrea of Portsmouth, Patrick Cortazar and his wife, Juanita of Portsmouth and Charles Cortazar and his wife, Jessica of Lynchburg; two daughters, Joanna Eason of Appomattox and Davina Carpenter and her husband, Glen of Virginia Beach; one brother, Paul Barr of Hampton Roads; four sisters, Anne Whitt, Sharon Bryant, Becky Davis and Jeanie Woodcock all of Hampton Roads; thirteen grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren with one more on the way. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Weston; two brothers, Ray and David Barr; and one sister, Barbara Akers. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 21, 2022 at Sharon United Methodist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Robert Phillips. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m., Monday at Finch & Finch Funeral and Cremation Service, Gladys. There will be a gathering after the service at Donald's daughter, Joanna Eason's house 281 Lee Grant Ave Appomattox, VA 24522.
