Harold Lee Ewing, 91, of 115 Penuel Lane, Altavista died Friday, February 18, 2022 at his home. He was the husband of Nettie Phillips Ewing for sixty-nine years. He was born July 25, 1930 in Lynchburg, a son of the late Edgar James Ewing and Adaline Shiflett Ewing. He was a lifetime member of Penuel Baptist Church and a retired employee of General Electric. Harold enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, camping and helping others In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Kenneth Ewing and his wife, Becky of Altavista, John Ewing of Altavista and Dean Ewing of Gretna; one daughter, Linda Hall and her husband, Lawrence of Hurt; eleven grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Terry Lee Ewing; one brother, Merdith Ewing; and a sister, Eunice Lucille Ewing Arthur. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 21, 2022 at Penuel Baptist Church, Altavista by the Rev. Carlton Gunter and Rev. Dr. Ricky Ewing with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and other times at the residence. Finch & Finch Funeral and Cremation Service, Altavista is in charge of arrangements.
