James Ronald Mayberry

James Ronald "Ronnie" Mayberry, 74, of 278 Little Seneca Rd, Altavista died Friday, June 10, 2022 at Autumn Care of Altavista. He was the husband of Angela Bowyer Mayberry for thirty-seven years. He was born September 14, 1947 in Lynchburg, a son of the late James Edward Mayberry and Cora Daphene Akers Mayberry. Ronnie was a retired quality control manager for Areva with 42 years of service. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Gregory Arnold Mayberry and his wife, Nikki of Roanoke; one daughter, Jessica Mayberry Gavin and her husband, Sean of Altavista; four grandchildren, Kayla Howard, Jennah Mayberry, Spencer Trivett, and Kinsley Trivett; and special friends Stewart Garrett, Jimmy Davis, Jack Ford, Carolyn Dodson and Jane Merricks. Ronnie was preceded in death by his canine companion, Boogie. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 13, 2022 at Finch & Finch Chapel, Altavista by the Rev. David Bayse with interment to follow in Altavista Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m., Sunday at Finch & Finch Funeral and Cremation Service, Altavista.
