Peggy West Lowman

Peggy West Lowman, 85, formerly of Altavista died Monday, January 15, 2018 at Blue Ridge Manor in Martinsville. She was the loving wife of the late Robert Preston Lowman, Jr. for sixty years. She was born March 3, 1932 in Campbell County, a daughter of the late Luther James West, Sr. and Elsie Eades West. She was a member of First Baptist Church and retired from the Campbell County School System. She is survived by two sons, Robert P. Lowman, III and his wife, Sharon of Hilton Head, SC and James Scott Lowman and his wife, Susan of Altavista; two daughters, Dana L. Pennington and her husband, Mike of Martinsville and Stacy L. Wheeler and her husband, Zach of Thomasville, GA; a sister-in-law, Janet West of Altavista; four grandchildren, Derek Pennington and his wife, Peiching of China, Michelle McKnight and her husband, Jon of Knoxville, TN, Allison Wheeler of Thomasville, GA, and Nicholas Lowman of Altavista; and three great grandchildren, Jieling Pennington, Sarah McKnight, and Emily McKnight. She was preceded in death by a brother, Luther James West, Jr. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Finch and Finch Chapel, Altavista by Chaplain Jeff Rhea with interment to follow in Altavista Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from noon until 12:45 p.m., at Finch and Finch Funeral and Cremation Service, Altavista and other times at the residence of Janet West, 1265 Lynch Rd., Altavista.
