Ralph Morgan Farmer, 79, of Hurt died Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Linda Rice Farmer for 62 years. He was born November 13, 1941 in Pittsylvania County, a son of the late Luther Frank Farmer and Julia Randolph Farmer. He was a member of Hurt Pentecostal Holiness Church and the retired owner/operator of Ralph M. Farmer Painting. Ralph was on the Board of Directors at Bank of the James and a member of the Grit Ruritan Club. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Kelly Farmer, and one son, Matthew Farmer and his wife, Susan of Hurt. Many thanks to his special nieces, nephews and friends who have been a wonderful blessing throughout the years with calls and visits. He was preceded in death by eleven siblings, Mary, Harry, Pauline, Russell, Irvin, Eddie, Roy and Carl Farmer, Delma Bradley, Martha Eades and Stella Finch. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Hurt Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. Dr. Rich Denning and Rev. Mark Hopkins with interment to follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Ralph will be available for viewing from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., Monday at Finch and Finch Funeral and Cremation Service, Altavista.
