Robert David English

Robert David English, 86, of 1620 Melinda Drive, Altavista passed away Friday, February 11, 2022 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the devoted husband of Doris Dinkle English for sixty-six years. He was born November 17, 1935 in Toler, KY, a son of the late Marvin Baxter English and Josephine Curry English. He was a member of the West End Church of Christ and a retired postal carrier. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Royce English of Danville and Don English and his wife, Norma of Altavista; one daughter, Tammy Conner and her husband, Roger of Hurt; two sisters, Lorene Dalton and Carol Ann Moss both of Gretna; five grandchildren, Christopher English (Laura), Cory English (Angelica), Brooke Barksdale (Evan) Nicholas Conner (Samantha) and Holly Conner; and four great grandchildren, Christian English, Macy Barksdale, Zeke Barksdale, Zoey Barksdale. He was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer English; a sister, Hilda Dalton; and three brothers-in-law, Dan Moss, Harold Dalton and Jack Dalton. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Altavista Memorial Park by Larry Evans, Minister. Robert will be available for viewing from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., Tuesday at Finch & Finch Funeral and Cremation Service, Altavista.
