William David Dalton

December 28, 1956 - March 5, 2022

William "David" Dalton ,65, of 496 Level Run Road, Hurt died Saturday, March 5, 2022 at his home. He was the husband of Terry Kinsler Dalton for 46 years. He was born December 28, 1956 in Lynchburg, a son of the late William Lester Dalton and Janice Davis Dalton. He was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church, a retired employee of Mid-Atlantic Printing and a dedicated Firefighter with the Hurt Volunteer Fire Department, where he was awarded "Firefighter of the Year". In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Brandon Dalton and his wife, Jade of Gretna; a daughter, Chastity Wertz and her husband, Jim of Lynch Station; a sister, Lori Wright and husband, Kevin of Altavista; five grandchildren, Kailey and Kinsley Wertz, Emma Grace, Ainsley and Rhett Dalton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry and Barry Dalton. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 7, 2022 at New Prospect Baptist Church, Hurt by the Rev. Brady Willis and Rev. R.G. Rowland with interment to follow at Green Lawn Cemetery, Hurt. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and other times at the residence. The family suggests that those wishing to make memorials consider St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-9956. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Centra Hospice, especially to Jetta Morgan for her exceptional and compassionate care.
