Willie Lawson Law Jr.

Willie Lawson Law, Jr., 93, of Autumn Care and formerly of Hurt, went to be with Jesus on Monday, January 24, 2022. Born December 15, 1928 in Rocky Mount, he was the son of the late Willie Lawson Law, Sr. and Thelma Cooper Law. In addition to his parents, Mr. Law was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Peggy Turner Law and by a brother, James Russell Law. He was employed as a cost accountant by The Lane Company in Rocky Mount and Altavista from 1966 until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church in Hurt. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953 as a post-World War II occupation troop in Germany. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Surviving to cherish his memory are one son, David Law and wife, Nickie of Glade Hill; one grandson, Corey Law of Harrisonburg; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 27, 2022 at New Prospect Baptist Church by the Rev. Brady Willis officiating with interment to follow in Franklin Memorial Park, Rocky Mount, VA . The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at Finch & Finch Funeral and Cremation Service, Altavista.
