Secmantha Coleman Arthur

Secmantha Crinchow Coleman Arthur, 76, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, August 6th, 2024. She was born on August 20, 1947, to the late Aubrey and Luella Coleman. She was married to the love of her life, the late James Bruce Arthur, for 34 wonderful years. She is survived by a daughter, Tabitha Atkins and husband Ray of Franklin, VA, three sons, Jeff Arthur and wife Brande' of Hurt, VA, Jonathan Arthur and wife Mandy of Lynchburg, VA, and Jamey Arthur and wife Letha of Hurt, VA. She is also survived by ten grandchildren: Kimberly Brightwell and significant other, David of Rustburg, VA, Stacy Bell and husband Brandon of Evington, VA, Rachel Couch and husband Danny Jr. of Appomattox, VA, Joshua Arthur and wife Tabatha of Hurt, VA, Brennan Arthur and wife Bethany of Stafford, VA, MaKayla and MaKenzie Arthur of Lynchburg, VA, David, Matthew, and Emaleigh Arthur of Hurt, VA. She is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren: Britney, Amy, Skylar, Logan, Kaitlyn, Peyton, Ava, Jaxon, Ember, Aubrey, Mya, Brandon Jr., Malachi, Weston, Camden, Olive, Hope, and Lilah. Along with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, she is survived by a brother, Rev. John Coleman and wife Mavis of Tucson, Arizona, along with many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, George Coleman, a sister Linda Hamilton of Lynchburg, VA, a great-grandson Simon Arthur of Altavista, VA and a niece, Lynn West. Secmantha worked with her husband at the Big Tee restaurant in Rustburg and Brookneal. She then worked at Roses in Altavista, managing the snack bar and video department. She had an unwavering love for family; her most cherished position was being a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She has had many health battles and fought each with determination. The family would like to thank all the staff at Forest Health & Rehab and Lynchburg General Hospital for all the care given during her stay. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 12, 2024 at Finch & Finch Chapel, Altavista by Pastor Joshua Arthur and Rev. John Coleman with interment to follow in Altavista Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m., Sunday at Finch & Finch Funeral and Cremation Service, Altavista.
